My entire professional life – save for a short stint working for a CD store during the holidays in 2003 – has been centered on bringing people together through words.

For almost fifteen years as a science communicator, those words have served a basic philosophy: that the more we know about the world and each other, the better equipped we are to make better decisions about how to live in it. 

My work is always rooted in building connections. Sometimes that has meant sharing the bond between cancer survivors and those researching a cure. Other times, it’s been about the passion shared by scientists seeking out better energy solutions. I’ve connected with people around me in meaningful ways as a reporter, storyteller, and musician. Always, the desire is to entertain, inform, and – some days when I’m lucky – inspire.
